Merry Christmas!

I want to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you all have a safe and wonderful day.
I am usually way behind and never finished with all my goodies. I am a bit proud of myself this year, I seem to be getting things done a little quicker. I still have a few things to finish this evening. I hope we get to leave work a little early today. I have a wonderful boss who is all about family, so I think he will let us go home early. Enjoy your family and Friends and have a day filled with LOVE and JOY!

A piece with a story

I have been working on this most of the morning. Had some bumps along the way, some times I should just walk away for a bit. I didn't give up and this is what I did.
This is for my niece, I am letting her see it early ! This piece is for her rough road she has been on trying to adopt a baby. It starts with BELIEVE my favorite word....we have to believe it is going to happen. I have a heart broken and held together by FAITH. An angel of HOPE and a bottle with WISH. So I hope you like this Erin.

Love you lots !!!

More Earrings

Yes I am on a earring creating spree! I have some more to get listed in my Etsy shop.
I also  have a pin too that is a bit different. I wanted it to look a bit primitive, like cave drawings.
I hope to get some dolls started this weekend. Never enough time. I also plan to take a long  weekend to get some things started for Christmas.

Enjoy

Birds....Birds

I finished some more earrings and hope to get posted to Etsy tomorrow. I had to take the picture inside due to the high winds all day. The first pair turned out the best but I think they might be a bit to big, The two top pair are smaller and not as heavy. I guess I might have to keep the big pair :-)
I hope to have more goodies soon!!

Sunflower Jacket

Sigh!! It is finished!!! After a lot of work my jacket is done. I love how it turned out and would love to wear it! This has been in the works for several days and changed several times also. That is what happens when your are designing something out of your head. Trial and error and a lot of patience go in to making it up as you go. I just wish I had more time to create all the things in my head. Now time to relax and see what I can plan next!!  Enjoy

I will go back to working on my jacket today and hope for the best!!

Playing with Polymer

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I have been painting and playing with clay.
It has been a while since I have had the clay out and just could not help myself today. I have had so much inspiration from Pinterest that I had to start playing. The picture is a bit blurry took it in a hurry.  I need to get back to the sewing machine and get sewing. So here is a quick peek at my play today!

Sticking with Jacquard

Did some more dyeing yesterday. My daughter has been bugging me to do some. I bought a couple of kits so she could do some of her own. I played also and did some more socks. I should have added some salt to the bottles to help it set. Well we had some much needed rain on and off, we hung the T shirts out side. My hubby wanted me to run to the store with him and sure enough it started to rain. I called Makayla and told her to go bring in the shirts. Well long story short some of the dye bled and kind of changed the look of her shirts. I will not use any dye except Jacquard going forward, it is good quality dye and you get much better results. Enjoy!!

Happy 4th of July

I want to wish everyone a very happy 4th!  It is kind of nice to have a day off in the middle of the week. We won't get to have our usual 4th of July celebration since we are under a burn ban. Due to the lack of rain and everything being so dry we can not set off our own fireworks. Several places have canceled their firework displays. We could drive to go watch some but don't think that will be in our plans. We usually go as a family to pick out some good fireworks and shoot them off on our property. With the ban in place we will just have to do without the fireworks this year. We might get some and wait until the ban is lifted and have a display at a later date. For this year it will be a 4th of July with no fireworks!

Dyed bamboo socks

I dyed some very soft bamboo socks. I had a hard time trying to get the true color to show up in the picture. They are a soft aqua with sort of rasberry accents. These socks are so soft! I plan to dye some more on Wednesday. Makayla wants to dyed some more T shirts so we are going to have a big creative day. Hope to get more done and listed in my Etsy shop.

Art Show piece...Ready!

Down to the wire but I made it! My piece is ready to deliver tomorrow and I am relieved. I had issues with the neckpiece and redid those. Sometimes it just takes some music to get the vibes rolling and things to come together. This piece is titles Garden Fairy and is the second in my garden series. The first piece Tattered Roses sold in my show last summer. So I am crossing my fingers that piece two will also sell. Wish me luck!!

little birdy

Well I am feeling better but not back to 100%. I have not had a real bad sinus infection in several years. This one put me down, that does not happen very often.
I made it into the studio on Sunday but things were not going like I planned.I was going to applique a bird on this little shirt for Willow. Well my sewing machine had a mind of it own. I was getting tired of fighting with it and tried the fabric markers I picked up at JoAnns. This didn't work out the best, but it will have to do. I am going to put some flowers on the pant legs. I have learned it is best to just wait until you are feeling better to start a project.

I am so excited!! It is finished!!!

I am so relieved it is done!! This is only my second quilt and my first rag quilt. I wanted this to be so special and I think it is. The colors are perfect match for little Willow's room. Now all we have to do is wait for the little darling to get here. I think we just might spoil her a little :-)  Now to focus on the prim doll for the room. Enjoy!

Saturday Inspiration

Got some great books delivered today! I can't wait to have some spare time to dive in and get some good inspiration. Both books have dvd's so that is an extra bonus. I was so excited that Suzi Blu did a book and could not wait to get it! Now I will be wanting to try something new. :-)  Off to the pet store, we are getting a new addition to the family!

Bet you can't guess what this is made of

I bet you have no idea what this is made of! I could not believe when my daughter told me. Makayla made this in art class and I think it looks so real. Can you guess what is made of?

It is not clay.........

It is made from toilet paper, yes toilet paper of all things. Just goes to show you, you can make art out of anything.

Trying some Embossed Metal

What a day! It was windy and rained, just a cold wet day. I had big plans of doing a lot of creating, not. I woke up with a bit of a headache that turned into a real sinus killer. I had to go lay down for a bit to get rid of it (something I never do ). Feeling better and had to make something. So this is my first attempt at embossing metal. My first two attempts I didn't get the birds , the metal shifted. Third time was a keeper. I think I need to buff a little more and they will be ready. Love to know what you think!

Help! My studio is not big enough!!

O, my studio is not big enough for the both of us! :-) My daughter is at it again!! She has been making recycled magazine pots. She has been moving in on my studio space....Now don't get me wrong. I love the fact she is creating and enjoying it but, my studio is too small for us both. She has a pretty good size room and she has room to have a art station. So I told her tonight she could have one of my glue guns. You should have seen the smile...priceless! I think we will make a place in her room for her to do her art. I will have to get her a few supplies and let her have her own space. Yes I am smiling too!

This if for the Birds!

I have had this cuff idea in my head for a while. I had to get it created. I found these adorable nests and thought they would be fantastic for the focal point on my piece. I stumbled across this fun stamp and knew right away this would be great to use in a wearable of some sort, yes a stamped cuff! Now I still need to add some snaps  and it will be ready to wear. O what a fun piece this is going to be to wear!

Sunday dye fun

Well it has been pretty productive here in Artbyme land. I found some dye at Menard's (of all places) in the clearance. It is called Tumble Dye, mixed in bottles and ready to spray on. No salt needed either. Makayla had a white Nike sweatshirt that was looking a bit dull, so she wanted to try the dye. We put some rubber bands like tye dye and sprayed away. We both think it turned our pretty cool! Of course we had to do a onesie for the baby, she is going to look cute in this bright outfit! Now off to make some shoe for that little girl!

Saturday Road trip-the cabin

Took a fun road trip to go see the cabin. This wonderful piece of history can be mine to restore. I was excited to see it for the first time in person. I just stood inside it and didn't want to leave, it felt so peaceful to be there! It was like I could feel it begging me to bring it back to life! The people who owned the property just didn't take care of anything, so sad. I looked at the logs most are in top shape, a few seem to be wet and maybe damaged. I figure we can find a way to replace what it  damaged.I can't imaging how you could let something so beautiful and historic just go to pieces. The old stove will have to be restored and used else where, this cabin nees a fireplace! So cross your fingers I can get this beauty apart and hauled the 40 minute trip to its new home!
