My Upcycle Go Figure

Wow! I have not posted for ever....Life has been crazy. Makayla is finished with track, so it is just softball. We have 9 days of school left! I need a break. I have been battling an allergic reaction of some sort on my feet and back of my legs. I tried to clear it up on my own, I had to give up and go to urgent care last Tuesday. They gave me a steroid pack and a cream. I hate to take that stuff! It is better and I think I am on the road to recovery.
Ok here is my upcycle figure for the Art Museum. She is a bit silly and kinda looks like a first grader made it but it was fun. Of course with all the running and feeling like crap a lot, I didn't get it all together they way I wanted to. I took her today and there is some amazing things there. The show opens up Friday evening. My piece is tittled "Walking the Dog". It is made from things you would throw away. I went to a recycle place and got some card board tubes, wire and the melted black plastic my dog is made of. I included an old lamp shade, plastic bags, a paper plate and her mouth and eyes are made from toilet paper rolls. She is about 5 feet tall. I would love to know what you think of her! Don't be shy and let me know! I will try to get some pictures and post them later!
Hugs for now

New Family Member

Well I have been running and running! Makayla is in track and softball, I fell like I live in my truck. We have 4 weeks of school left, I am doing the happy dance!!! I need to get some creating done to feel whole again. I did finished my quilt, I still need to get some pillow shams done. I also have to finish my go figure(having some issues with this). Makayla and I had a girls day out today. We both got hair cuts and we adopted a new baby. She is adorable and still just a baby. She is about the size of a Guinea pig right now. She look so tiny up next to our other rabbit, Misty. We decided to call her Bella, she is a Holland Dwarf and is so sweet. Hugs for now!

Primitive Quilt Top

Well here is one thing that has been keeping me busy! I wanted new bedding and curtains but didn't want to spend a fortune. So I decided to design and make my own quilt. Well it was a bit challenging at times but I have the top done. I hope to get it all finished in the next week or so. I also made my own pattern for curtains, just like the new prim ones you see in Country Sampler. I will post picture of those later. I made my curtains out of the same material that I did the bed skirt out of. I only spent $19.00 to do 3 windows, bed skirt and used some in my quilt. I am so proud of myself ! I am also trying to get my Go Figure started for the local Art Museum. I am making a figure out of recycled material for an Art show. I love recycling things and turning them into ART!! So fun to think of ways to use old junk. I will post some pictures when I get this going. Hugs

Spring Break!

I have not posted for ever! We are on spring break this week and it is wonderful. The bad thing is I am spending money like crazy. We went to see Alice on Wonderland in 3D yesterday. It was wonderful. The funny thing was the movie seemed so blurry in the background at times. I thought I am never going to pay this much to watch a 3D movie again. Well 3/4 of the way through my kids said mom turn your glasses upside down. Well the movie was way better! I don't know if the glasses were screwed up or what. Well we kept our glasses and I am going to watch it in 3D again to see the whole thing they way it was meant to be!!
I have been busy remodeling my front bathroom. What a job!! Sanding the texture off the wall, what was I thinking to do this in the first place. I am putting paper on the bottom half that looks like an old barn, I am lovin it! I hope to be done by the weekend except the new floor. No sure when we will be putting that in. Ta Ta for now!

Basketball Tourney Time

This my my baby, boy does she love to play basketball! She is on fire!! Tourney starts tomorrow and I hope they win. My son Blake is not in to playing sports. Makayla makes up for both of them. I can't get anything created for running to practice and games. I love to watch her play, she steals the ball and is off like a rocket! This is only her first year to play. She plays her heart out and I hope the girls win tomorrow. Good Luck Lady Mustangs! Hugs

Will Spring ever come?

I don't know about you but I am ready for spring. I need some sunshine and warmer temps. I am having a hard time getting motivated and creative. It is snowing here again today, but not supposed to get much more than an inch. The cardinals in the snow at our feeders in the back are just beautiful! The last few days we have had freezing fog! It has been stunning out side but makes me feel like I live in an Arctic zone. It is almost like crystal trees! I had to take some pictures, still playing with my new camera. Enjoy Mother Natures stunning Artwork! Hugs
