Angel Tree Topper

Christmas is comming fast! I have so much to make yet. Yesterday I decided to make myself somthing. I have been needing a new tree topper. So I worked like a crazy woman and finished my angel for the top of my big live tree. The theme in this room is BELIEVE . so she had to hold a believe banner.I have trees in every room. With the exception of my 14 year old son's bedroom. He decided he didn't want one in his room this year. Getting to old I guess! I have a 7-8 foot live one in the middle of the house and this angel is for the top of my live tree.

Last Camping Tirp

We went on our last camping trip for the year. It was raining and blowing on Friday when we left. When we got to the camp ground, we discovered my bike fell off on they way. I was devastated! This was a nice men's 21 speed bike!! I loved my bike and could not believe it was gone. Hubby worried that it could have caused a wreck or someone got hurt. We ended up having a good time hiking on Saturday. The first picture is my kids on the suspension bridge. The second is a trail after the bridge through the rocks. We took this trail (very rugged) and the dog was with us. 3 1/2 hours later, scaling rocks and doing many stairs up and down, we made it back. On the trip home we kept our eyes pealed for my bike, no luck! Someone has a nice bike now ! Hubby had to buy me a new one now. I have been looking and hope to have one soon.

Got Somthing Done!

Well I have been so busy ! We tore up the floor in one of our rooms...the subfloor also. What a mess! So I have been dealing with a lot of dust and disaray in my house. I got the room repainted and hope to get the trim done after we get back from camping this next weekend. I did get this doll done for a patient sweat blogger friend. I need to get some flowers made for her and she will be ready to travel. I hope she likes her.

Indian Summer

Fall is here and it has been quite chilly in the morning. The days get warm and pretty by afternoon. I love the fall and all the colors! I wish I had more time to just sit outside and create. I don't seem to have enough time to get much creating done right now. I need to figure out a better way to manage my time to get more art done.

Eatable Art!

Happy Birthday Makayla! My Makayla turned 13 today. She is growing up fast. She wanted a real funky cake. So I spent hours making it. I make my own Icing but she wanted this sparkly gel she saw at Michael's. Well it was a bit runny to do the sides with but I did it anyway. She wanted polka dots all over the top layer but it was not working. So I just added the lines and snapped a quick picture. Next time I will use my own icing! She was happy so that's all that matters. Hugs

OFG Monday Market Place Feature

It is Monday and I am featuring Deb of Willow Tree Treasures on my blog today. Deb is such a sweet person! You need to stop by her Etsy shop and check out her wonderful creations. Her dogs are so cute!!
1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name? My shop name is Willowtree Treasures. As a child I had a willowtree that was located in our back lawn. Every time the branches would float in the wind it seemed so magical to me. I thought some day ...if I looked hard enough... I may find treasures nestled beneath the moving of these branches. 2. How long have you been on Etsy? I have been on Etsy for a little over a year. 3. What type of items do you offer? I offer items that range from extreme primitive to primitive with a touch of vintage appeal. I create dolls, doll lamps, pincushions, doll pins, hang tags, door greeters, shelf sitters and much more to aid in home decoration. 4. How long have you been crafting? I have been creating for about 10 years. I started with primitive jar lamps surrounded by a layer of moss and silicone bulbs as the lighting source. When I began to sew I then began adding the half dolls to my lamp creations. I then graduated to full dolls, ornies and doll pins. My business branched out from there. 5. Who or What inspires you? Life in general inspires me . The life stories people have to share of their triumphs and disappointments I also find as inspirational! 6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why? My favorite item in my shop is Annie and the Clairabelle cow. I found the construction of this set to be very challenging and did a lot of techniques for the first time! This project I truly had a hard time putting down until is was completed because of my interest in seeing the final product when it was finished! 7. OFG Monday Market Place

Apple Tree Cottage
This is my Monday Market Place feature. This is a great way to feature other artists in our group. I have chosen Martha Smalley as my feature.
Martha is an amazing artist and I hope you visit her shop on Etsy.
1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
When I was a little girl, my family moved. I was very lonely but found a library near our home, so I would walk there every day and spend hours browsing at books. I found a book titled Apple Tree Cottage and I was absolutely swept away by it. The cottage was a magical place where peace and love was found. I decided if I would name my shop in honor of this book that has such an impression on me when I was young.
2. How long have you been on Etsy?
I joined Etsy in January, 2008.
3. What type of items do you offer?
I offer an eclectic mix of vintage, folk art and primitive items. I love to paint on old pieces that have a story to tell when they come my way.
4. How long have you been crafting?
FOREVER! I have been fortunate to be surrounded by people who have encouraged me since I was small. My husband and my daughter are my two biggest fans.
5. Who or What inspires you?
I love things that come to me with a history. Old boxes, drawers and coffee pots have a story to tell and I like to add just a little “prim” icing on the cake when I find a piece that longs to be reinvented.
6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I can’t say I have one favorite piece. I love everything I paint… each item in my store is something that I would place in my own home.
7. Other places where you can be found (Ebay, webstore, blog)
I sell only on Etsy. You may visit my blog at appletreecottage.blogspot.com. Be sure to vist Martha on Etsy or her blog.
She is a very sweet lady.

My Upcycle Witch

I am so excited, here is my upcycle Witch to send to ART Doll Magazine. I hope she gets published. I had so much fun making her! She is on a candle stick I purchases from GW. Her dress is made from a vintage shirt and her jacket is an old t shirt. She is holding an old troll pumpkin earring and has another old earring in her other hand. I also added a broken vintage rinstone piece to hold her jacket together. I think I will have to do some more!!
